A final Merry Christmas from this blog!

Can you believe that Christmas is in just a few days? I can't. In fact, I haven't done my Christmas shopping for Jen yet. So, today I will leave work a little early to go do it. I would list my ideas, but she may read this and that would ruin everything!!!

Things are moving along for us. Yesterday, I sent out all of my Christmas cards to my supporters. On Monday evening, we finished all of our thank you cards for our wedding gifts. That was a real blessing to finish before Christmas.

I trust that all of you will enjoy your Christmas with your family and friends. I know that we will! Have a great day and a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Merry Christmas! Isn't that a great sound? I went to the Post Office today and they were playing Christmas music and the workers were saying "Merry Christmas" to the customers. What a blessing to hear that!

We have decorated our apartment for Christmas! Last Saturday we went to Target and used our gift cards to get Christmas decorations and then went to Red Rock Nursery to buy our tree. I enjoy walking into our home and smelling the Christmas tree.

The last two Sunday's have been great. Our pastor has been sharing from Romans 10 and has given challenging sermons. Yesterday, he talked about longing for the day when he can hear the pages of the Bible rustling during the sermon. He always starts the sermon by saying: "Turn in your Bible to . . . . ." and I love to hear that! The last two Sunday evenings have been special programs. Last week, we enjoyed the elementary Christmas program and last night the youth group put on theirs. They were both great. Last night, during the youth program, they had a team of mime perform during the song "Mary, Did You Know?". It was probably the most moving rendition of that song that I have seen.

Well, Jen and I are doing great and we wish you a Merry Christmas! Have a great day!

Life changes so quickly!!

I'm married now to the beautiful Jennifer Colleen Williams (formerly David)! On November 19th, we were married at Vista Grande Baptist Church in Colorado Springs with our family and friends in attendance. It was a great day! But, I guess I should back up a little and catch everybody up on the events since the last post.

I was fortunate to be able to take a few weeks off to prepare for the wedding and move my stuff before the wedding into our new apartment that Jen had moved into earlier. Of course, I had to get sick right away--at least it was before the wedding and not on the wedding day! My family began to arrive on Wednesday, Nov. 16th. They were able to stay at a TLF at the USAFA, which was great. Mom, Dad, and I met Jen and her parents for dinner that night. Thursday seemed to be quite busy doing all kinds of stuff (moving my bed, going to the commissary, etc.) before the Williams' family {Mom and Dad, Chris (brother) and Kiley, Jenny (sister) and Jason} met with Jen and I at our new home for pizza. Anthony, my best man, and Dan, one of the groomsman, showed up later. It was nice to be able to relax and fellowship for awhile.

On Friday, Dad, Chris, Jason, Dan, and I met at Einstein Bagels for a quick breakfast before we hit the mountains in our Jeeps. We had about six inches of snow on the trails and it was a blast. We spent the morning in the mountains. That afternoon I ran around trying to find a place to repair the hole in my Jeep's tire and then met Lamar and Josh, who flew in from Florida. We then went to the church for the rehearsal and dinner. We had Bird Dog BBQ delivered and had a wonderful time relaxing and getting to know everyone a little bit better. That night, Dan, Anthony, and I headed to watch "Jarhead"--not that good especially with the liberal bias that came through the dialogue.

On the 19th, I got up early and headed to the Academy for breakfast with my family. It was great to see everyone for a little bit before I headed back across town to meet my groomsmen for brunch at Mimi's Cafe. Then it was off to clean the Jeep before I went to the church to get ready for the wedding.

Wow, our wedding--what a wonderful time. One humorous story, as the camera guy was taking pictures, he asked me to pull up my pants and they broke!! So I had to staple the pants to hold them up during the wedding--gotta love that! :-) When Jen finally showed her face (okay it just seemed like a long time for me), I was amazed at her beauty. It was wonderful as Tobey shared the Gospel and other Scriptures with us and our guests. He surprised us at the end of the ceremony by presenting us with the new Bible that he used for the service. It will be a treasured guest that we will use for the rest of our lives. After the pictures, we were able to head the fifty steps to the reception hall where Anthony did a wonderful job as our best man and kept things moving along! I couldn't have asked for a better guy to do the job! Of course, our friends did a great job of decorating the Jeep both inside and out! Then we got into the Jeep and drove into our future together! Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from the wedding yet, but when I receive some from family and friends I will post them.

Well, on to the honeymoon--Maui!!!! Jen's grandparents, Honey and Big, gave us a wonderful gift by sending us to Maui! We absolutely loved it! We stayed on the west side of the island, just north of Lahaina in a great condo. We drove the fabulous "Road to Hana" and saw the sun rise from the top of Haleakala (10,023 feet), went to the beach, miniature golfed, went to the aquarium, drove all the way around the island, shopped, and just relaxed. I do have some pictures, so I'll post some of those. Well, we are back in Colorado Springs and beginning our regular life together! Our place is beginning to look organized and like a home--our home! Have a great day!
