Date night at the Williams'

What exactly is a date night? That's the real question, but I have found out that the two of us are too busy, so we need to set time apart for each other. Our busy schedules include church, work, friends, working out, watching sports, dance class for Jen, Bible Study for Rick, and other various mundane activities.

On Sunday, we decided that Tuesday evening would be a date night. Somewhere along the way I picked up a few tricks and decided to stop on the way home and buy some flowers (don't ask me what they were--but I knew they would match the pink vase that I bought in Thailand for her). I had them on the counter when she walked in from the garage and she was quite surprised. Then we cooked our Digiornio pizza (pepperoni with stuffed crust), which was quite good. After we cleaned the dishes, we read our Bible reading for the night.

Then, we decided to try and solve the puzzle that Jenny and Jason gave to us. It was a lot of fun, but we didn't solve it. Why is it so hard to place nine pieces in the order that they want. Then we played Jenga. I won the first game and would have won the second game, but Jen decided to cheat and use both hands to stabilize the falling masses of blocks. After that we began the best activity of the evening. For Christmas, Jen gave me a gun that shoots Nerf darts. We then spent an hour shooting the darts at our pictures on the wall trying to hit our faces. It was a good time. Then, we went to bed before ten because I had to get up at 5:45 to go to the gym--such a life.

Well, date night was a success! Phew!!!!!

It's been a little while!

Jen and I went with some friends to see the "End of the Spear" movie. Wow, what a great movie and it clearly shares the Gospel. If you don't know the movie, make sure that you go to see it. It is the story of Nate Saint, Jim Eliot, and the other missionaries that were killed by the people they were trying to reach. It is told from the perspective of Nate Saint's son and ties it to the present day.

On a personal note, we are doing well. We are enjoying married life. On Saturday we are going snowboarding. The military is having SnoFest at Keystone so we are going to enjoy the discounted lift tickets (through a friend) and have a great day!

We have committed to reading the Bible through this year. After dinner every night or before bed, we read a couple of chapters together. It has been a lot of fun.

On Saturday, we had to put new tires on Jen's CRV. So much fun, but it was nice to go to Sam's Club and get a little bit of a discount. Well, I'll talk to you later. Have a great day!

A little update

Well, I'm back to work from my Christmas vacation. I've included a few pictures from our 1st Christmas as husband and wife. You'll see one of Jen and I at a Christmas party with two pictures from our apartment. One is of our tree and the other is of our dining room. They are both decorated for Christmas.

Christmas and New Year's were both great. We were able to spend some time relaxing together and with Jen's family. On New Year's day, her parents, and brother (wife, and son) all came down to our home for dinner. We had turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, (nasty--according to me) maccaroni and cheese, and deserts. After dinner, we played a game and had a great time.

On Saturday it looks like we'll be going to Breckenridge to snowboard. That will be a lot of fun. We also are going to meet with some of my friends from Yukon, OK.

Well, I hope you enjoy the pictures. Have a great day!
