Just a quick note

I am in Thailand at this time leading a group around the country working with churches and schools. If I don't have a chance to post here, just go to the Thailand link on the side and you can see what I am doing and how to pray for the team and I. I look forward to seeing or talking to you all soon. Have a great day!

The Beast is back

Well, after three days of being in the shop, the beast (my 1988 Jeep Wrangler) is back. Yes, I needed a new clutch master cylinder and they had to put a used (new to me) intake manifold on the engine. So, she's running a lot better and I have wheels once again, which is nice.

I leave Friday morning (6:30 am) to head to LA. On Saturday, I get on the plane to go to Thailand. It should be a great trip. Have a good day!

I get the point

Summer is definitely here!!! It is quite busy, but things are going well. Here's a brief synopsis of what's going on.

On Thursday, June 2nd I travelled with our office staff to Yukon, OK to train our summer staff. We had over 60 people training to do sports ministry. We conducted three camps at Trinity Baptist Church, Westmoore Community Church and Covenant Community Church. I was placed at Covenant once again. It was a blessing to return there since I've been at that church for the last three years and have a number of friends at the church. We did have over 150 kids attend the camp. They chose between soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball and cheerleading and everybody participated in snack time (my favorite), song time, illusion time, and Bible time. On Thursday, 12 kids accepted Christ and several others made other decisions for Him. On Saturday, June 11th, I returned to Colorado Springs with a stop in Wichita for a wedding of a friend.

It was great to return because my buddy, Dan, returned safely from Iraq. I was able to go to his house and join the welcome home party. It's been great to hear the stories of the good things that are occurring in Iraq that the media will not report. This past weekend I was able to spend a lot of time with Dan since Jen was in NYC with her mom and other friends. On Sunday afternoon, I took a few hours to go 4-wheeling in the mountains, but now my Jeep is in the shop since I blew my clutch master cylinder. Those are the breaks.

On Friday, June 24th, I head to Los Angeles to meet up with a friend and spend the night before I meet my team on Saturday to head to Thailand. It will be a long trip, but will be awesome. I'll post more later about that trip. Have a great day!

Summer is here!!

Can you believe that it's June already? It seems like just a few weeks ago I was snowboarding down the mountain, but now I have my top and doors off of the Jeep and am enjoying the beautiful weather.

Camp has begun. In just a few short hours, I and the rest of UW's office staff will begin the drive to Yukon, OK (home of Garth Brooks) where we will meet our summer staff. We have approximately 75 people flying in from around the country to train and learn our program. Once again, my friends from Trinity Baptist and Covenant Community Church will be hosting us. It will be great to see all of my old friends and to make new ones.

This past weekend Jen and I met my mom and Grandma in Denver. We then drove to Morrill, NE to spend time with them. We also took a day to drive up to see Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial. Before Jen and I returned home, we went out to the ruins of my family's homestead. It was quite interesting to see again and to know that we had three generations standing there.

Well, I should be off to bed. Have a great day! I'll post more in a few days!
